Supporting well decommissioning

What we delivered

Drawing upon ROVOP’s strong track record in supporting well plug and abandonment operations in mature fields, the client required a tailored package utilising robust, industry-proven technology.

ROVOP’s free-flying Schilling HD 31 work-class ROV was initially mobilised to the client’s jack-up rig, configured with a TDU and tooling specific to the scope.

Capable of deploying a full range of hydraulic tooling and ROV sensors, the HD series ROV is known for its reliability, 60 minute repair philosophy, automated functions and tooling capability. The Schilling HD is proven in construction, drill support, survey, IRM, and decommissioning applications.

The client’s preference for the Schilling HD reflects ROVOP’s understanding that the ROV is on the critical path of high value offshore projects.

Further operations were carried out with the Seaeye Tiger observation-class ROV for periodic spud can inspections.
