In response to growing demand for its services, ROVOP has invested in a further five new Schilling Work Class ROV systems.
This £17million investment, which is in addition to the £12 Million investment announced in January 2014, is designed to keep ROVOP at the forefront of ROV service provision.
The ROVs ordered include two 250 hp UHD Gen IIIs, the first ROV system designed to close a BOP in 45 seconds, and an additional three class-leading 150hp HD systems. The first system joins the ROVOP fleet in May, with the remaining vehicles being added through out 2014.
Both of the UHD Gen III systems will be deployed on the Ceona Amazon, a new-build deepwater construction vessel, which is expected to come into service in January 2015. The systems provided by ROVOP include electric heave-compensated launch and recovery systems (LARS) fully integrated into the vessel, to enable operations in harsh environment conditions.
The three 150hp Schilling HD systems ordered will be used assigned to multiple contracts across drill support, construction, IRM and decommissioning.
