ROVOP is going through an exciting period of growth and we have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Contracts Manager to join the team.
Based in Aberdeen, the role will be instrumental in supporting our vision to be the safest, most efficient and highest quality service provider in the Subsea Robotics space.
The Contract Manager is responsible for leading the Contracts team and all activities related to contractual, legal, commercial and insurance issues related to contracts with clients and suppliers. Based in ROVOP’s office in Westhill, Aberdeen, key duties and responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
Lead the review and negotiation of pre-award tender terms and conditions, to identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risk of contracts
Prepare and negotiate contracts based on ROVOP’s standard forms
Review and negotiate other forms of agreement that may be encountered as part of the business such as confidentiality agreements, letter of intent, mutual hold harmless agreements and parent company guarantees
Report to management major contractual and commercial risks with recommended mitigation measures
Ensure compliance with subcontract/supplier terms and ongoing management of prime contract obligations
Keep fully updated with relevant statutory requirements, laws regulations codes and best practice
Assists in the maintenance of the company’s global insurance programme
Maintains clear and effective communications within the commercial team to understand tender requirements and their impact on contracting strategies
Maintains clear and effective communications with the operations team in relation to any contracts awarded, providing a clear summary of the terms of the contract agreed and ongoing support in relation to contract queries, collect contractual lessons learnt from Contract Engineers and Project Managers during project delivery
Support change (variation) control process internally and externally
Develop and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders and members of the management team, both internal and external
Maintain and update where required ROVOP’s contracting principles, standard contract forms and contract processes
Provide contracts training to the commercial and operations teams in order to support the development of their contract’s knowledge
Line manage the Contracts Assistant and provide appropriate training and mentoring
Provide contractual assistance in relation to any disputes that arise with clients or suppliers
Any other associated tasks requested to support the Head of Contracts and Commercial.

Extensive experience in contracts management and administration in the oil and gas industry
A graduate degree in an appropriate field
Knowledge of contractual law
Experience of reviewing ROV supply contracts
A law, or law and management degree
A qualified lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction
Ability to work under pressure
Able to establish good working relationships with people
Strong influencing and negotiating skills
Commercially focused, with the confidence and experience to make recommendations to senior management
Highly confidential and trustworthy
Ability to multi-task and problem solve

Highly organised and flexible
